“The inn has a lot to recommend it, but most of its laurels stem

from its owners, Tom and Ali, who really know hospitality, know

how to have fun, and will ensure YOU have it!”

Innkeepers dressed as Elvis and Priscilla

Meet your Innkeepers

Ali & Tommy

Innkeepers Ali Pitcher and Tommy Dott have been in the hospitality business close to their entire lives, collectively from Hawaii to Nantucket. Prior to purchasing the Lamb and Lion Inn in 1999, they owned & operated a AAA 4-Diamond rated inn & restaurant in New York’s historic Hudson Valley.

With passion, hard work, and a dash of insanity, the inn became the smallest property ever to be inducted into the prestigious Relais and Chateaux organization where Ali and Tom housed and hosted familiar names like Newman, Jagger, Streep, Bacon, Travolta and Streisand. They hosted one of the late great Isaac Stern’s weddings, who, when asked by a guest to play his violin during the reception, retorted “Madam, you’re not rich enough, and I’m not yet drunk enough!”

Now, celebrating their 20th season at the Lamb and Lion Inn on Cape Cod, Ali and Tommy still wake up every morning ready to treat every guest like a rock star. Tommy has won several national food writing awards, is a certified Spin instructor and has a successful Personal Transformation “Life” Coaching practice (he’s also the self-proclaimed “Cape Cod’s best Elvis impersonator”, but let’s not go there).

Ali is the Inn’s looks, brains, style, finesse, dog whisperer and all-around Kitchen Goddess…and most importantly, she is the most patient woman on the planet (just ask Elvis). When not wearing her Innkeeper’s hat, Ali is a personal trainer and also manufactures and sells fun and funky rubber fish purses through her own company “Good Friend Bags” which donates $5 for every purse sold directly to animal rescue!

Eileen working hard on the phone

Eileen “The Machine”

For over 20 years Eileen Stanton has been the bane of Tommy & Ali’s professional life. It doesn’t matter how tirelessly the innkeeping duo work to make guest’s stays as comfy as possible, it’s EILEEN who gets all the credit (and happily accepts it). From the inn’s kitchen refrigerator that’s wallpapered with hand-written thank you cards, to glowing references on review websites and gifts from past guests in the mail, Eileen is beloved by everyone she meets.

Dating back to Tom & Ali’s Relais & Chateaux days back in New York, Eileen has worked by their side for all this time and is a true hospitality dynamo. If you need anything during your stay, Eileen is probably already heading down the hallways with it. Star gazing in the hot tub? She’ll have the outdoor fireplace fired up for ya!

But above Eileen’s vast knowledge of the area, her always upbeat and un-rattled demeanor and her all around kindness is her wonderful laugh–It echoes across the courtyard and defies any guest NOT to feel cherished.

Pretzel looking cool with his sunglasses on

Pretzel is a rescue from a puppy mill and the stories of her upbringing are too cruel to relay. But she is the most well-adjusted dog imaginable. In fact, bolstered by her “rags to riches” story, she has been nominated “Most likely to take flight” (from an over active wagger). She’s a premier sitter and stayer, and has a unique play-fight technique, which involves a kind of 3-quarter double-lutz butt spin that can take out the sturdiest Airedale.

Pretzel lived her first 4 years without a name, so Tom and Ali wanted to name her something that spoke of happiness, indulgences, friendships, and celebration, so they named her after their favorite restaurant in Boston’s North End, Prezza (pronounced Pret-za). That WAS her name for a few years, but every time they’d tell a guest her name they’d inevitably say “Pretzel?” So, after a while she had a name change. That’s the funny thing about dogs–you can do that. As long as you feed them they DON’T CARE!
